My wife Maura Kate and I were able to get a weekend away from the dogs and head down to New York City to meet up with my family for a few days. Being 600 miles apart means I don’t get to see my parents very often, but when I do it’s very special to me. On this trip we were joined by my niece-in-law Bailey for her first trip to NYC, and my first trip since I was a teenager.Wanting to pack light since I knew we’d have some very long days, I grabbed my trusted Canon 40D, my Sigma 10-20, and my R-strap and headed south down I-95.
For today’s post I wanted to show a few HDR shots I got from Liberty State Park in New Jersey. The park is an alternate loading area for the ferries to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, and offers considerably smaller crowds than it’s Battery Park counterpart. Today’s shots are all 3 exposure HDRs, imported to Lightroom 1.4, tonemapped in Photomatix, and finished in Photoshop CS4.
