Today’s photo is another from my trip to New York, as well as an instant favorite of mine. Usually when I hear people talk about Times Square they talk about the lights and the people; artists and interesting characters abound, but personally I was instantly drawn to the light. The buildings, architecture, and signage of Times Square is what had me riveted; Times Square is an oasis of light and sound that just isn’t found anywhere else I’ve been. To paraphrase Ralphie from A Christmas Story, “nothing in the world could’ve dragged me away from the soft glow of electric sex gleaming in the night”. I think today’s photo captures that idea, the initial overwhelming feeling that there is too much to see and too much going on, followed by the realization that it is really an orchestrated and controlled chaos artfully crafted.
