My interest in photography was born out of a want to connect with my wife doing something that she enjoyed. Learning from her love of photography I realized that I too had a need to express myself through a camera lens. After starting with a Pentax K-1000 and no photographic knowledge or experience outside of disposable point & shoot cameras, Maura Kate helped me learn the ins & outs and I found myself spending more time behind the camera.
Photography allows me to share the world from my point of view. It’s cliche to say of course, but most photographers I know would tell you that it’s also the truth. In addition to expanding upon my love of architecture, photography has made me rethink the way I see the world; I will often stop to photograph and admire things that I would never have noticed before, or I see something gritty or dark, and I find the beauty in it.
One of my other obsessions in life is sports, and I’ve been fortunate enough to find myself as the Athletics Photographer for Regis College, and the former Photo Editor for Bostonist.com. Both of these positions have given me the privilege of photographing some really fantastic athletes including the NCAA DIV I Lacrosse Championships at Gillette Stadium, and the Hockey East tournament at the Boston Garden.
I hope you find my blog a positive addition to your photographic pursuits and look forward to sharing my point of view with you.
